Recognizing Excellence in the Delivery of Fire Service-Based EMS

In 2010, the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) established the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards. The awards recognize career, volunteer and combination fire departments that have implemented innovative programs to enhance the delivery of emergency medical services in their communities. Each year, CFSI presents the awards at the annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC attended by 1,500 fire service officials and many national political leaders.

CFSI is in the process of accepting applications for the 2018 awards. As a member of the Fire Service-Based EMS Advocates, consider applying for this award if your fire department has recently established a new program that enhances your EMS capabilities. You can access the application by clicking here which will direct you to the CFSI website. The deadline for submitting applications is February 2nd.

Recipients of the CFSI/Masimo Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards will be honored at the 30th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner held in Washington, DC on April 19, 2018. CFSI will cover travel costs for one individual per organization to attend the dinner. These expenses include transportation, overnight accommodations for a maximum of two nights and seating at the Dinner.

Following the Dinner program, CFSI and Masimo will arrange a local presentations to acknowledge the recipients before their local government leaders and the citizens they serve. These events are designed to make local communities better aware of the outstanding services being provided by their local fire departments.

CFSI extends its thanks and appreciation to Masimo for serving as a co-sponsor of the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards program. Contact CFSI at 202-371-1277 or [email protected] if you have any questions.
