Department of Justice Accepting Nominations for the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor: Medal is Presented to Firefighters, EMS Providers and Law Enforcement Officers for Acts of Courage and Bravery

The United States Department of Justice recently announced that it is accepting nominations for the 2015-2016 Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor, the highest national award for valor by a public safety officer. Each year, recipients are honored at a special White House ceremony in which the President or Vice President presents the medals.

Two Fire Departments to be Honored for Excellence in Emergency Medical Services: Fire Service-Based EMS Award Presentation at 28th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner

The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and Masimo will honor two fire departments for best practices and innovative solutions in the delivery of emergency medical services with the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Award. The award presentation will take place on May 5th at the 28th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC. The honorees are the Olathe (KS) Fire Department and Kittitas Valley (WA) Fire and Rescue.
