Schedule of Events

The National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium is something you can only experience in our nation’s capital. No other event in the fire service features such a distinguished assembly of knowledgeable experts on national fire service issues — leaders who are involved in shaping national initiatives and advocating for the fire service in Washington, DC.

Our seminar presenters include association leaders and policy makers who are experts in such areas as first responder communications, emergency medical services, building codes, leadership, public safety education, and health and wellness.



Schedule of Events

Shuttle Bus Service to Capitol Hill
April 6th: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
April 7th: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
CFSI will provide complimentary shuttle service to Capitol Hill for all attendees.

Will Call
April 6th: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
April 7th: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Will Call will be located in the Washington Hilton where attendees can claim their tickets to the National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium and Dinner.  Tickets will allow entrance to all the seminars on Wednesday and Thursday and the dinner program on Thursday. Claim your tickets at Will Call the day before the dinner to avoid the last-minute rush.

Seminar Program

Featuring national fire service leaders, the seminar program will cover a broad array of issues being addressed on Capitol Hill and within the fire and emergency services. Concurrent sessions will allow participants to select seminars that best suit their interests.

Open to all attendees, the general reception offers the opportunity to connect with old colleagues, build new business relationships, and converse with key organization leaders.

National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner – International Ballroom
7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Approximately 1,500 fire and emergency service leaders from across the country come together as one fire service for a special dinner program honoring the dedication and service of our nation’s one million first responders.  The event includes tributes from prominent Administration officials and leaders of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus leadership – federal leaders who understand our issues and work with us in Washington, DC on a daily basis to help the fire service become better prepared and trained.

During the program, CFSI will also recognize fire service leaders and organizations for outstanding leadership in advocating for our nation’s fire and emergency services. The prestigious awards include the Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award, Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award, Dr. Anne W. Phillips Award for Leadership in Fire Safety Education, and the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards.

Without question, the National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium and Dinner is the most prestigious event in the fire and emergency services. Leaders from all disciplines gather together in Washington, DC and present a unified image to our elected officials on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
