About CFSI

CFSI achieves its mission by providing an array of services and programs to engage members of Congress in fire and life safety issues. We prepare white papers and conduct briefings on Capitol Hill to offer the fire service perspective on the salient pieces of fire service legislation. We offer basic firefighter training and ride-along programs to allow members and their staff to experience the role of a first responder. We also help members of Congress with drafting and analyzing legislation that impact the readiness of firefighters and rescue personnel. CFSI was the catalyst organization that urged Congress to create the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (FIRE Act) and continues to assume the lead role in efforts to sustain funding for the program.

In addition to members of Congress, CFSI engages Administration officials – including leaders of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the United States Fire Administration – on federal programs and policies that impact the fire and emergency services. We want to ensure that programs intended to support our firefighters and EMS personnel benefit them directly with little disruption from government intervention at any level. CFSI works hard to make positive things happen in Washington, DC for the benefit of fire and life safety organizations throughout our great nation.

The strength of CFSI is our National Advisory Committee, a group of over 40 national public safety organizations representing nearly every facet of the fire and emergency services. Convening semi-annually, the NAC meets to develop consensus on federal fire and emergency services issues which become the CFSI agenda on Capitol Hill. The NAC is the confluence that brings together the major national leaders in fire and life safety to support a federal agenda that advances the readiness and response capabilities of our one million first responders. It expresses the priorities of the firefighters responding to the emergencies as well as the industry that provides the needed training and equipment.

About The Program

The CFSI Corporate Partners Program is a four-tiered membership program offering a variety of special benefits to companies seeking greater involvement and exposure in the fire and emergency services at the national level. Based on your level of support, our partners program will offer a unique package of benefits to introduce your company to the individuals and organizations advocating for the fire and emergency services at the national level.

CFSI takes great pride in being the lead organization that helped Congress create the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (FIRE Act), which has provided over $4 billion in direct grants to the fire and emergency services. Yet as a privately funded organization, we are the only major fire service organization that has not directly benefited from the program. This is why we seek the support from those who have – primarily the homeland security industry.

By becoming a supporter of our Partners Program, you will help CFSI advance our mission on Capitol Hill to raise greater awareness of the needs and challenges of our nation’s one million firefighters and EMS personnel. Moreover, your company has the potential to develop contacts with influential leaders who play important roles in the development and implementation of federal homeland security initiatives, such as the FIRE Act.

Consider the benefits afforded through our Partnership Program and how they can increase your name recognition among the decision makers in Washington, DC. There is no other program that offers such a unique package of benefits for companies seeking an entrée in the national fire and life safety arena. From our corporate training program and special congressional briefing to our National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner, opportunities abound for your company to interact with our nation’s fire service leaders. The dinner alone brings together 2,000 state and national fire service leaders in addition to members of Congress and Administration officials. In addition, your company will gain greater name recognition as we display your logo on our various publications and trade show booth.

There are many other benefits to joining this program and all of these can be seen on this page.
