There are a couple different ways to use the flameless candle in your community, you can use it as a fundraiser or an educational tool. The programs listed below are not limited to fire departments, other community organizations can participate.
Candles as a Fundraising Tool
Pre-Purchase
Organizations may order candles and sell them after purchase. With this option, organizations pay for the order in full prior to shipment. This causes organizations to carry inventory during the fundraising process. For organizations that host events attracting large crowds, such as an open house, this option may prove useful because candles can be sold on-site.
Optional Items: Purchase a Flameless Candle Fundraising Kit for $20 (price includes S&H). The kit includes (1) preassembled shadow box, (1) 4" Round Flameless Candle and (2) Batteries

Pre-Sell
This option allows organizations to use a preprinted order from and solicit orders from the community. Once all orders have been submitted to the participating organization, a master order is placed with CFSI. This allows organizations to avoid up front costs and the possibility of leftover inventory. Pre-selling is a good option when going door-to-door or soliciting orders from family and friends. It also gives organizations the flexibility to approach fundraising at any price.
*The Pre-Sell program will require two forms.
Customer Order Form - Download and distribute this form in the community. This form is optional, if you choose to carry a limited amount of candles or charge higher prices you will need to design your own form.

Tips: There are many different approaches to selling the candles and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing to remember is each method requires some level of committement and time. But, if thats your only cost then you really can't complain! Below are a couple suggestions for increasing sales in your community:
- Display and collect orders at the local grocery store
- Display a few candles and collect orders at your open house during Fire Prevention Week

Flameless Candle Fire Safety Education Program
This option encourages your organization to do what it should do best; educate the public about fire safety! Using this option your department signs up online at www.reducefires.com. After signing up you are directed to a tools section on the website where you can download and reproduce literature to distribute in your community. Every piece of literature has a web address on it where community members and family members can purchase flameless candles. 20% of every candle purchased on this site will be donated back to your organizations. The customers simply need to select your organization name when checking out.
